The purpose of The Hormel Institute is to promote research and education in science with applications in medicine. The Hormel Institute is currently investigating the causes of cancer to develop new basic strategies for its prevention, treatment and cure. The Institute's aim is to build bridges that effectively span the gap between basic laboratory research and clinical application. The Hormel Institute's partnership with the University of Minnesota and collaboration with Mayo Clinic achieves scientific achievement recognized around the world.
