Dr. Jie He tours with executive director to learn about Institute’s world-renowned research

AUSTIN, Minn. — Thursday, May 31 — Dr. Zigang Dong, Executive Director of The Hormel Institute, on Thursday hosted the president of the Cancer Institute & Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CIHCAMS).

Dr. Jie He, whose own research includes novel work in cancer diagnostics and therapeutics, was visiting as a guest speaker for the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center in Rochester. He, a professor of thoracic surgery and director of the Lung Cancer Center and Laboratory of Thoracic Surgery at CIHCAMS in Beijing, traveled to The Hormel Institute to learn more about its world-renowned cancer research in partnership with the University of Minnesota and Mayo Clinic.

He was visiting Rochester on Thursday to present the Joseph Austin McCartney and Ruth McCartney Hauck Named Visiting Professor lecture following an informal presentation about his cancer center’s research and potential areas for interaction with Mayo Clinic researchers.
