The Hormel Institute’s Gail Dennison, Director Public Relations & Development, and Dr. Mohammad Saleem Bhat, a section leader who studies prostate cancer, accept a $1,316 donation this week from Austin Public Schools’ Executive Director of Educational Services John Alberts and Superintendent David Krenz. The funds – which will fully support cancer research – were raised by Austin Public Schools administrators as part of their 3rd annual “Movember” fundraising effort, part of an international movement every November to raise awareness and funds for men’s health programs. Since 2012, the Austin Public Schools administrators have raised more than $3,700 overall for the Institute’s cancer research.
