Decorating Contest winners invited to Live Learning Center research reception
The Paint the Town Pink Steering Committee announces the return of a citywide decorating contest as part of the 2016 Paint the Town Pink initiative. The contest, that last took place in 2013, aims to add more pink around Austin in the coming weeks, helping to raise awareness and support for The Hormel Institute’s world-renowned breast cancer research. Contest winners will meet cancer researchers from around the world as the prize includes an invite to the historic “first” cancer research conference reception using the new Live Learning Center.
The contest consists of two categories: Home and Business/Nonprofit. Applications to enter the contest can be found on The Hormel Institute’s website (www.hi.umn.edu and click on the PTTP link at the top of the page) or on the Paint the Town Pink’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/austinpttp. Please complete and submit the application by mail to The Austin Bruins, c/o Decorating contest, 501 2nd Ave. N.E., Austin, MN, 55912 or they can be emailed to gopttp@gmail.com. There is no fee to enter the contest and applicants will be notified of the judging times after applications are reviewed.
Applications must be received by Monday, January 25th, 2016 and judging will take place Friday, January 29th, 2016. Winners of each category will be announced during the live KAUS broadcast (from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM) at the Plunging for Pink event on Saturday, January 30th, 2016.
One winner from each category will receive entry for two to attend the opening reception of the first and historic cancer conference using the new Live Learning Center hosted by The Hormel Institute on the evening of June 1, 2016.
