Participants Still Needed for 10,000 Families Study
The Hormel Institute is excited to announce our partnership with the 10,000 Families Study(10KFS) of the University of Minnesota! 10KFS is a study of family health across Minnesota, looking at how environment, genetics, and daily life affect health and illness over time. We are partnering to invite families from Mower County and broader Southeast Minnesota to join the study; let’s make sure our region is represented in this landmark project! We’re also offering the opportunity to come over to the Institute for health visits, the in-person part of 10KFS, rather than go up to the Twin Cities. Want to see if your family is eligible to join 10KFS? Click on z.umn.edu/10KFS-Hormel. Questions? Email tenkfs@umn.edu.
Participants Still Needed for Clinical Trial
We are still looking participants for our first clinical trial. Employees of The Hormel Institute are allowed to participate in this study. The goal of this research is to determine if consuming one of the two study drinks will help enhance the detoxification of multiple environmental toxicants and cancer-causing agents. If our research supports this idea, this drink could be an inexpensive dietary component, which could promote good health.
We are looking for smokers and non-smokers over the age of 18 who are in good health to participate in this trial. If you are interested, contact our Clinical Research and Outreach Nurse, Emily Heath at eheath@umn.edu. You can also scan the QR code to take the screening survey. There is compensation for participants of up to $690 if all parts of the study are completed.
