Despite Covid-19 Pandemic, Dutchtown Jumpers Continue to Support Cancer Research at The Hormel Institute

The Dutchtown Jumpers present Paint the Town Pink donation at The Hormel Institute

AUSTIN, Minn – Despite the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Hoot ‘N Ole’s and local businesses and organizations continue to raise money to support cancer research at The Hormel Institute. On May 25th, 2021, the Dutchtown Jumpers presented a $32,500 donation to The Hormel Institute to support Paint the Town Pink.

The Dutchtown Jumpers have been the Plunging for Pink team with the largest donation for many years. They hold their own events throughout the year to raise money for their plunge during Paint the Town Pink’s Plunging for Pink event every February, including a golf tournament, hotdish feed, and chicken bowling.

Paint the Town Pink was created more than 10 years ago to support cancer research at The Hormel Institute. The initiative has raised more than $2 million dollars. Money raised from Paint the Town Pink goes directly to the researchers at The Hormel Institute who are working hard every day to find new ways to prevent and control cancer through internal seed grants that fund innovative ideas. The research projects funded by Paint the Town Pink would not be possible without support from the community and give researchers at The Hormel Institute the ability to use their early results to apply for larger national grants to continue their research.
