What a night it was Saturday at the Eagles Cancer Telethon. The Hormel Institute was one of three research facilities that will receive a portion of $980,000 that will go toward cancer research. About the Telethon This was the 70th annual Eagles Cancer Telethon, and the Fifth District Eagles Cancer Telethon was founded in 1985 by a group of volunteers who wanted to make a difference in the fight against cancer.  Since then, it has raised millions of dollars to support cancer research and patient care. Our organization is run entirely by volunteers, and every dollar we raise goes directly to our programs.
