ROCHESTER, Minn. - The Hormel Institute was awarded the Lamp of Knowledge Award at a ceremony on Friday in Rochester.

The award is a partnership between the Greater Rochester Advocates for Universities and Colleges (GRAUC) and is given to an individual, business or organization associated with the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce that actively supports higher education partnerships in Southeastern Minnesota.

Recipients have shown a commitment to foster higher education opportunities. This may be done through helping to enable or encourage students to pursue higher education, through partnerships connecting the local school system students, and/or employees meet the education and training needs of an ever- changing workplace.

"All of us at The Hormel Institute are honored to receive this award. It is a testament to our commitment to education and inspiring the next generation of scientists," said Kelly Vincelette, The Hormel Institute's Community Outreach and Education Manager.
